Interns/Student Volunteers

Welcome Student! The Department of Juvenile Justice offers exciting opportunities for college students who want to develop relevant skills in a collaborative, dynamic and fast-paced environment. Students placed with us will gain meaningful real-world experience in the corrections field.

Our workforce includes a diverse group of individuals working in a variety fo positions across the Commonwealth in both community officers and multiple detention, youth development, group home or day treatment facilities. Student Volunteer Application

Student Volunteer/Intern/Practicum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university, be in good standing, and have at least a 2.5 GPA.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in a field considered necessary for the department's programs and institutions.
  • May be subject to a drug screen.
  • Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, a felony or trafficking in narcotics, dangerous drugs, or controlled substances.

 
Placement Location Information:

We can look for a placement for you in one of our facilities, administrative offices or community offices. Please review teh DJJ website for more information on all areas within the Department of Juvenile Justice..
