About Mayfield Youth Development Center
Mayfield Youth Development Center was founded and constructed in 1978 and has undergone several renovations since opening. The facility houses a maximum of 24 juveniles.
The facility has a variety of programs that teach juveniles responsibility and the importance of community ties and support.

Visitation Info
Sundays from 1:00pm - 5:00 pm. Occasionally on Tuesday from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Virtual visitation is available by appointment only.
Steve Woodward, Facility Manager
Steve Woodward serves as the superintendent of McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center, bringing over 30 years of experience in corrections and leadership. He oversees facility operations, manages staff and ensures a safe, structured environment for juveniles.
Woodward has held various leadership roles, beginning his career as a correctional officer at Western Kentucky Correctional Complex before working becoming training coordinator, deputy warden, and warden at the facility. In his time with the Department of Corrections, Woodward earned two distinguished service awards and took on many other special management assignments. He is committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism while supporting rehabilitation efforts that prepare young people for successful futures.
