Group Home is dedicated to providing youth with an environment that encourages the ability for success and opportunity as well as prevention of relapse. Middlesboro Group Home strives to create an environment for youth to participate in roles of responsibility, leadership, care, respect, trust, understanding and honesty. Our ultimate goal and purpose are the youth’s successful and stable return to their community or other environment. About Middlesboro Group Home
Middlesboro Group Home is located in the southeastern part of the state. The current facility was built in 2015, but MBGH roots go back to the 1980’s. MBGH is a residential treatment-based facility that serves up to 8 male youth between the ages of 12 and 21 who have been committed to the Department of Juvenile Justice for criminal offenses. The facility serves as an alternative to more restrictive institutional care or as a step-down for youth to move from an institutional placement to the community before returning home.
Staff provide 24 hours per day 7 day per week supervision. Services offered to the youth of Middlesboro Group Home are structured activities such as group, individual and family counseling, school, work projects, as well as physical and recreational activities. Youth receive three meals and two snacks a day, may attend religious services and may engage in phone calls and family visitations weekly.

Saturday and Sunday 2:00pm-3:00pm, Wednesday 6:00pm-7:00pm, or by special arrangement. Virtual visitation is available.
Jeremy Clem, Facility Manager
Jeremy Clem has over 16 years of experience working with at-risk youth, starting in 2008 with Pennyrile Allied Community Service, where he focused on education and nutrition. He transitioned to Harlan County High School’s Extended School Services, followed by the Appalachian Challenge Academy, where he served as the Section Supervisor of Education. In 2017, he joined the Department of Juvenile Justice as a Youth Services Program Specialist at Middlesboro Group Home and was promoted to Facility Manager in 2021.Jeremy has a bachelor's degree in communications from Eastern Kentucky University. He is passionate about making a lasting impact on youth, believing that the lessons taught today may resonate with them in the future. His goal is to make a difference in the lives of the youth he serves, even if the effects aren’t immediate.Outside of work, Jeremy is a dedicated supporter of Harlan County Black Bear sports and enjoys attending church with his family.
