*Lyndon is currently closed for renovation. Juveniles have been transferred to Campbell*
On Sept. 30, 2024, it was announced that the facility formerly known as the Jefferson Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Lyndon would temporarily close for renovations to expand the facility’s capacity to safely and securely house juveniles who have been ordered to secure detention. The facility, now referred to as the Lyndon Juvenile Detention Center, is currently projected to begin accepting juveniles at the beginning of 2027.

Once completed, it will house male juveniles younger than 14 or who have been charged with a lower-level offense (Class D felony or lesser offense). The facility will have 34 beds available and will offer the same services as all other juvenile detention centers in the state. These services include medical, education, evidence-based and life skills programs, and behavioral and mental health counseling. Juvenile detention centers securely house juveniles who are pre-adjudicated.
